Happy are those who are different
since he is different.
But woe to those who are different
since he is common.
[Sandro Penna’s Notes]
Arjan and Nicholas said I do at Agriturismo Villa Monnalisa, in the heart of Tuscany. A joyful and easygoing wedding, elegant in its simplicity, lived under open skies, like things that are born true and don’t need any frills.
One is Italian, the other Dutch. Two worlds with their own history that naturally intertwined. And the clear wish to live it to the fullest, without limits.
I’ve never believed that “different” weddings can exist. There are only true stories, to be heard and understood. And when two people choose each other with this kind of freedom, this honesty, this depth, every frame becomes a celebration, not just of happiness, but of enfranchisement.
I had the privilege to be there, to witness and photograph a love that spoke for itself, beyond all labels, prejudice and expectations. It was a wedding made of silent presence, respect, and emotion. And yes, a little awe too.
