“And it makes me live, and lights up the day
so heavenly, she’s my baby
Like a planet that revolves around me
and burns the fire, she’s my baby”

[Zucchero Sugar Fornaciari]

There are places that, for no particular reason, stay with you. You save them, revisit them, imagine them. Casa Cornacchi has always been one of those for me.

A place that still stirs in me the same emotions as the very first time, no matter how many times I return.

October 21st, 2025 is the day. And it rains.

Not a light drizzle, but steady, relentless rain, with a sky completely closed. Of all days. October in Tuscany can offer incredible light, but this time, it wasn’t on my side.

Daniele Vertelli and I set off with that quiet sense of uncertainty, trying to understand how the day would unfold. The venue didn’t really offer a true plan B, and every small unexpected moment seemed to carry a little more weight.

The couple, who had come from Los Angeles, felt that same uncertainty. Warm, kind, easy to be around, always smiling, yet with a hint of tension that days like this inevitably bring.
Then, suddenly, something shifts.

The rain stops, a soft light begins to appear, and with it, everything else opens up. The ceremony comes to life outdoors, and the tension slowly dissolves. Aperitivo in the gardens brings back a sense of lightness, while dinner, set around one long shared table, creates a warm and intimate atmosphere. And then the dancing, filled with smiles, joy, and a sense of wonder.

If it all came together like this, under that rain, it’s hard not to imagine how magical the next time at Casa Cornacchi could be.
