We were looking for an iris field.
Not just an ordinary one, but the perfect one. A place that could hold the feeling of freedom, of fresh starts. After a few winding turns through the Tuscan countryside, there it was: a violet blanket stretching as far as the eye could see. Like something out of a dream.
And then there were Francesca and Leonardo.
She had that unmistakable light in her eyes, he looked at her with the kind of joy and protection that feels like home.
Photographing moments like these feels like walking on tiptoe: nothing to direct, nothing to fix. Everything just falls into place. No instructions, no need to stage anything. You just watch it unfold, gently, like it was always meant to happen.
We found the irises, but the most precious thing was already right there with us.
