“The veil of past ghosts falls away,
leaving the canvas untouched.
And a soft wind of love rises,
true love.
And I find you again.”
[Lucio Battisti]
Villa Bernardini is one of those venues I had in mind for years. The kind you look at and think, “sooner or later, I’ll get to work here.” In 2025, it finally happened, and it felt exactly the way I had imagined.
An all-Italian wedding, with a couple from Milan, set within the timeless elegance of this historic villa in Lucca. A 17th-century residence that has preserved a soul that seems to quietly echo stories from another time. Outside, charming gardens, balanced geometries, and a soft natural light that gently follows every moment without ever overwhelming it.
The day began in an intimate way, with a few quiet moments dedicated to the bride’s preparation, calm, unforced, and honest. This was also made possible thanks to Agnese Bibbiani of Agnese Studio, an incredibly talented and experienced wedding designer who brought everything together in perfect harmony, leaving nothing to chance.
Shortly after, I moved to the villa, letting myself be guided by what Villa Bernardini does best: creating atmosphere.
The bride had a presence you noticed immediately, elegant, confident, yet incredibly down to earth. The kind of person you connect with in just a few minutes. And above all, it was clear how deeply she was feeling everything that was happening, just like the groom. Both fully present, emotionally involved, in love, with that kind of energy that makes everything feel more real, even through the images.
And that’s what I look for, every time. Not just a beautiful venue, but that perfect mix of light, people (and even a dog here and there), the kind of energy that makes you want to give everything you have.
