“I dream my paintings first, then I paint my dreams.”

[Vincent Van Gogh]

A dream, or perhaps a nightmare. The kind that lingers, even after you wake up.

This project was shaped by Aurora’s inner world. By images that are hard to explain, closer to a feeling than to a story. Our role was to bring them to the surface, to make them visible.

It wasn’t a simple portrait session, but a process built on dialogue, ideas, and the attempt to give form to something that, by nature, has no clear shape. An approach close to therapeutic photography, where the image becomes a way to explore and confront deeper parts of oneself.

In the days leading up to it, I kept asking myself whether I would be able to make something real out of thoughts so intimate, so difficult to define. Then the moment came. Everything was ready.

Aurora was incredible. She fully stepped into it, embodying her fears, living through them, and finally letting them go. I stood there as both observer and narrator, trying to capture their essence.

For me, this was an important step. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and into a different way of working, more instinctive, more direct.

A different kind of photography. A new kind of emotion.
